The ROC boys no longer in the building???

My girl Carmela is real. Peep this:

"You've got to consider the fact that Jay-Z has been spittin' for some time now & he has created his own style, empire, & sound. We love Jay, but every song on 'The Cool' sounds different.

Lupe is versatile & relatable. The lifestyle Lupe promotes is much more accessible to young people like you & myself.

I mean, who can honestly say they relate to 'The ROC Boys' video besides the people who were in it?"

Case and point.

tru dat.

i havent been a jay fan since the horridness of excuse me miss part 2 came out.

that when it became apparent that he was now commercial.

like if you listen to his old music, he jus raps harder and more raw, he really is more relateable.those were the days..when u could still hear the hunger in his voice.i.e., ITS AHRD KNOCK LIFE(that instead of kisses we get kix shit was bomb.com)

now all he talks about is, "u dont have enuff stamps on your passport"

as for lupe...WACKNESS also!

haha

that song was ill

The Cool is a great cd that lyricaly I really like but I absolutely hate lupe's beat selection. Superstar is cool so is the coolest and i like paris tokyo... the rest of the cd is good lyrically but nothing i would just play over and over cuz it doesnt SOUND good lol

American gangster on the other hand wow... its mot written quite as well but it sounds so much better lupe will never make a song that sounds as good as party life.

Lupe would make a better spoken word artist lol but i'd rather listen to jay-z any day

and i doubt any of you can really relate to Lupe's music, i doubt you've ever went to sleep in paris and woke up in tokyo, you cant afford maharishi, dr. romanelli, neighborhood or any of the other brands he mentions and if you could u prolly wouldnt know where to buy it anyway. do ppl even think about what they say

um yeaa.that song was NOT "ill" as u say.nd american gangster was a AIIGHT album.def nuthin 2 write home about.but i still stand by my point that both "artists" are overall waackness...

whoaaaaa jay-z is older now so of course he's gonna write about his success. he's not in the hood any more so he would be frontin if he wrote about the same experiences he had while he was broke....and american gangster is the ish..dont trip!
now lupe is a beast too! however like andre said his beats are slum...lyrics are great tho

but umm yea like jadelina said i would like to picture myself and my friends having success like jay and his friends...everybody doesn't want 2 hear depressing songs all the time
seeing jay-z, nas, and diddy, etc as successful blk men being an empire is a beautiful thing.

yes this is indeed tru erica-ca but the fact still remains that he was better when he used 2 rap about his grimey lifestyle.

well fuck'em both.

i dont relate.
i seen lupe in concert when he came to Howard.

neither one of them really keep my attention past the chorus.

i think they both jus "blah blah blah" over nice beats but not nice enough beats to play twice..

they need some bass.
thats what the niggas love.
good bass..
lyrics about skateboards and crack hustle dont make you want to shake your ass after long hours of stress.

mmm...
jay's american gangster is cool.
i can "groove" to it or whatever.

BUT

lupe's the cool is BOOOMMBBB... from beginning to end - "he's a BEAST!" like... have you actually sat down & dissected this album? the concept is crazy - the characters (Micheal Young History, The Cool, The Game... etcetera-etcetera), the storyline... GENIUS!!! and you've heard “gotta eat”, right? that's mad clever how he's like... personifying a big mac - making it sound like he's talking about some killer or whatever... to make people aware of how junk food is killing us! and like your friend said "every song on 'The Cool' sounds different."... i enjoy this Lupe guy a little more than jay... but that's just me.

btw.
"make you want to shake your ass after long hours of stress."
lol. hilarious.
